A life-long resident of Milwaukee, Wisconsin, Scott B. Franklin, C.P.A., J.D. joined Kohler and Franklin, LLC, Certified Public Accountants in 1995. He is a third generation Certified Public Accountant, having earned his Bachelor of Business Administration degree in Accounting from the University of Wisconsin – Madison in 1992; he is also a second generation attorney and received his Juris Doctor degree from the Marquette University Law School in 1995. Scott concentrates in the firm’s tax, estate planning, business advisory, and litigation support practices. Scott B. Franklin has frequently authored articles on a wide range of legal and accounting issues for various professional publications, including the Wisconsin Institute of Certified Public Accountants’ monthly periodical, the Wisconsin Lawyer publication of the State Bar of Wisconsin, and national family law magazines. He has also presented Continuing Legal Education seminars for the Milwaukee Bar Association, the State Bar of Wisconsin, and the American Bar Association’s Section of Family Law, among other organizations. Scott has appeared in print media interviews as well as on television and radio for general and specialized news reports.
Scott also taught classes for the Law and Tax portions of the Uniform C.P.A. Exam for the Becker C.P.A. Review Course in Milwaukee and through Lakeland College’s online graduate school in Sheboygan. In addition, he is a past treasurer of the Milwaukee Young Lawyers Association. His professional associations include the Wisconsin Institute of Certified Public Accountants, the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the State Bar of Wisconsin as well as admittance to practice in the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Wisconsin and the United States Tax Court.
